Interview with Bill Coffman
I recently conducted an online
interview with Bill Coffman, longtime MCA board member. Bill has worked with
the MCA since before it changed its name from The Chicago Circulation Roundtable
to FMA Midwest in the 1980’s.
Bill finds that the people that
he has met during his years with the MCA to be an invaluable resource. His relationships have helped with his career
as well as the careers of other friends and associates at MCA. “ It never hurts
to expand your Rolodex with good contacts,” he quips.
Bill currently is the Owner and
Business Development Officer of Publishers Data Management Group, which he
started six year ago with his partners Rob Urish and Al Bull. Understanding of
the varying needs of each individual publisher helps attract quality clients to
PDMG’s growing stable of Special Interest Publications.
Bill has more than thirty years
working in the publisher services industry. His first twenty-five years were spent with KABLE NEWS COMPANY and KABLE
ULFILLMENT SERVICES.During his career
at KABLE, he held a variety of positions including Supervisor of Warehousing,
Personnel Manager, Accounts Receivable Manager, and Director of Client Services. The diversity of his jobs at Kable gave him
an excellent understanding of the various flows of circulation.
